August 5: Today's 5 mile hike began at 826 SE Bidwell and went around Oaks Bottom with a side trip to the center streaml. Then we wandered through Oaks Park, along the Willamette River and up to the center of the Sellwood Bridge, espying the constuction and destruction that is part of the new bridge project. From there we had coffee at Grand Central and Sundae in the Park at Sellwood Park. We left when a blue grass band began to play.

August 12 we will meet at Kathy & Wayne's place at 15828 NE 158 and Stanton to carpool out the Gorge to Latourell Falls for a 2.4  mile loop, which is not a long hike but there is some uphill action. Meet at 9 a.m. Short hike like this may not require lunch or water. But who knows?
