July 24: Leaving Montgomery Park, elevation 70 feet, we crossed the Thurman Street bridge above Balch Creek on our way to Leif Erickson Drive, a scene full of fitness aficionados running, biking, and walkiing away from excess weight and worldly cares. Cliff's granddaughter, Kalo, lured us onto the Dogwood Trail and that got us up to the Wildwood Trail which we took back through a couple miles of forested track more than 500 feet above sea level.

Next week, July 31, we will meet at Tryon Creek State Park, parking area, for a trail not quite as arduous as the Wildwood hike. 9 A.M. in the parking lot.
