We picked up where we had left off on a previous walk to the river near the Burlington railroad bridge. (Click for more.)
July 17: The rain did not stop us from a descent to the river's edge near the Burlington railroad bridge, where we picked a trail along the tracks that had a feeder trail exiting up the river bank back to St. Johns. We ended up at the St. Johns Cafe enjoying good coffee and small breakfasts. The rain was still pounding, so we were not against grabbing a bus ride back to the cars on Ida Street. A fun trip to new territory.
Next week, July 24, we will meet at Montgomery Park parking area and follow Thruman to Leif Erickson and other streets in NW Portland.
On the trail leading back up the bank, from the railroad flats to St. Johns.

The bus, yes, that's the ticket, it was raining but we still had fun.
