August 28, we again left from Peninsula Park, this time with a large contingent and headed west to Mocks Crest, circling around to the south and our java stop was at the nice place on Killingsworth at Albina.
Next Sunday is the day before Labor Day. Let's all take a break. Ralph and I will make a decision for Sept. 11 based upon suggestions that come in to us before then.

The rest of the tree. A resident of the area, Madrona Park, says at one time this kind of tree dominated the cliffs and area around Mocks Crest.
We were able to get views of the industrial sprawl in Mocks Bottom. This old Portland Public Docks aerial and this topo map show how little space was used for industry in 1960.
